SEU’s First Feature Film “Roundhousen’s Roast” Premiere on April 8th at Polk Theatre

Lakeland, FL — March 21, 2011 — Residents of central Florida will come together in honor of Southeastern University’s unveiling of their first feature film entitled Roundhousen’s Roast, thanks to the Polk Theatre, who will host this event on April 8, 2011 at 7:30PM. This who-done-it inspired film is produced, acted, and directed by the Southeastern film department. With help from two well-known, local actors, Tony Senzamici and Paul Hughes, this feature film will showcase the raw talent of the students and faculty.

Roundhousen’s Roast is a murder/mystery/comedy in the vein of the movie Clue and Murder by Death. A mixture of the area’s uppercrust, politicians and celebrities enter a beautiful, historic theatre for the gala of the year – the Humanitarian Man of the Year award banquet. The very rich and influential Stimpson Roundhousen is the man to be honored and some of the guests quickly reveal that he is as ruthless as he is wealthy. Pressed by reporter Rhonda Schwartz, Stimpson reveals that he has a special announcement that has major ramifications. All in attendance listen intently as Stimpson prepares to reveal a secret that will change everything.

Southeastern University and The Polk Theatre have teamed up to deliver this special event. All are welcome with an $8 ticket that may be purchased on the Polk Theatre’s website, www.polktheatre.org, or at the door. Limited seats available.

All guests will enjoy a formal affair (black tie, suits, and long dresses encouraged) including photo ops, the red carpet treatment, live TV crew and a real movie experience as Hollywood comes to downtown Lakeland!

  1. I’m really excited about this event but more so about having the opportunity to volunteer during this special night! I was contacted by Taylor Flumerfelt via e-mail about this opportunity to volunteer and it seemed like a great way to get some hands on experience. I like the idea of bringing Hollywood to downtown Lakeland by having photo ops, a red carpet, and a live TV crew! Also 8$ a ticket is priced considerably well and its definitely a great date night idea for any couples or a good event just for a fun friday night activity! Looking forward to it, thanks for the post- Sarah
